Job Summary

The Alumni Engagement Coordinator is a key role in the Allard School of Law, responsible for implementing and coordinating alumni engagement programs and services. This position plays a crucial part in delivering programs and services that foster a lifelong relationship between UBC students and alumni.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Program coordination and implementation
  • Database mining and data analysis
  • Development and organization of alumni programs and services
  • Support for the Allard Law alumni communications and engagement strategy

Organizational Structure

The Alumni Engagement Coordinator reports directly to the Alumni Relations Manager and works closely with the Allard Law DAE team, alumni UBC staff, Allard Law staff, alumni volunteers, university administration, alumni and development professionals, faculty members, students, and community organizations.

Work Performed

The Alumni Engagement Coordinator is responsible for:

  • Coordinating and implementing alumni programs, in consultation with the Alumni Relations Manager
  • Providing support for alumni programming, including registration systems, budget tracking, and briefing notes
  • Developing and implementing alumni programs and new initiatives to advance Allard Law and alumni UBC's strategic plan
  • Supporting partnerships internally and externally to coordinate and deliver alumni-related activities, programs, resources, and events
  • Developing evaluation of alumni programs and services, analyzing statistical information, and documenting results

Supervision and Accountability

The Alumni Engagement Coordinator reports directly to the Alumni Relations Manager and is responsible for managing and advising student employees and volunteers as required on various projects.

Qualifications and Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of one year of related experience, or the equivalent combination of experience and education. The candidate should be willing to respect diverse perspectives, including those in conflict with their own, and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing their own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with alumni or other constituents of post-secondary institutions is preferred. Experience working in volunteer organizations, program coordination, strategic planning, and/or public relations is an asset. The ideal candidate should have excellent time management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and respond to multiple stakeholders, and superior verbal and written communication skills.
