Job Description

Job Title: Product Operations Leader - Seasonal Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Operations Leader to join our team at Indigo Books & Music Inc. As a Product Operations Leader, you will be responsible for leading the execution of activities to support strategic priorities, ensuring the efficient and effective movement of products throughout their life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Execution: Lead the execution of activities to support strategic priorities, and the efficiency and effectiveness of product flow processes.
  • Product Flow: Lead the execution of D2F process and visual operations, reacting to sell-through, and continual focus on the flow of goods to the sales floor, and Back of House (BOH) set up.
  • Markdown Process: Lead the execution of markdown process, promotional set-up, and sell-through.
  • Changeover and Visual Assessment: Lead the execution of changeover and visual assessment action plans.
  • Visual Propping and Signage: Maintain visual propping, signage, and acrylics.
  • Customer Advocacy: Act as an advocate for the customer by placing them at the forefront of all decision-making processes.
  • Technology Adoption: Embrace and champion technology that creates high tech and high touch solutions for Indigo's customers.
  • Customer Expectations: Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs.
  • Team Coaching: Coach and provide feedback to Customer Experience Representatives (CERs) to ensure operational excellence and the profitable movement of goods throughout their life cycle.
  • Store Operations: Open and close store as well as responsibility for managing sales floor.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure health and safety of employees and customers is top priority.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a customer service, merchandising or operations role.
  • Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to creating an exceptional employee and customer experience.
  • Leadership: Experience leading others.
  • Health and Safety: Knowledge of provincial health and safety standards.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to exercise good business acumen and systemic thinking that supports meaningful decisions.
  • Agility: Ability to prioritize, plan and execute while being agile.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time.
  • Schedule: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift medium to large items, up to 40 pounds, while using appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
  • Bilingualism: Bilingualism (French/English) is required for all positions in Québec.
