The successful candidate will ensure the delivery of safe and effective nursing care in accordance with established hospital protocols and nursing standards.

Position Overview:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), your role will encompass a variety of nursing services aimed at supporting patients, families, and communities. You will be responsible for ensuring patient safety and well-being while employing nursing processes that involve critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making. Your responsibilities will also include educating, counseling, and advocating for patients and their families. You will play a vital role in promoting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. Providing high-quality, patient-centered care will be a priority, reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of specific required courses is necessary.

Additional Required Qualifications:

- Proven excellent assessment, organizational, and patient care skills.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly and accurately.
- Capacity to adapt swiftly to changing priorities and workloads.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
- Must recognize personal learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice as required.
- Emergency department triage/resuscitation training within the last 2 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Minimum of 1-year experience in emergency nursing within the last two years.
- Preference for candidates with certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Certified Emergency Nurse or experience in Acute/Critical Care within the last two years.
- Preference will be given to applicants with recent experience in a tertiary care facility's Emergency Department.
