Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital In-centre Hemodialysis Unit. As a Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing hemodialysis treatment to patients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive patient and family-centered care to renal patients
  • Practice within the philosophy and guidelines of Alberta Kidney Care – North (AKCN) to provide leadership, critical thinking, clinical judgment, assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Assume unit leadership and charge responsibilities to support all levels of the multidisciplinary team
  • Provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
  • Preferred qualifications: Nephrology Certification, familiarity with NIS, AHS databases, and trained within Alberta Kidney Care North program
