Your Opportunity:

The Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is responsible for leading the design, organization, execution, and assessment of educational initiatives for nursing personnel. This role is essential in enhancing clinical skills and ensuring adherence to organizational standards and practices within the gynecological program, which encompasses both inpatient and outpatient surgical services. By applying principles of adult learning, the CNE creates and implements educational programs aimed at orientation, mandatory training, clinical skill development, and updates to policies and procedures. This position is vital in fostering clinical proficiency among nursing staff.

The CNE identifies educational needs based on various factors, including safe practice, ongoing competency, quality enhancement, and alignment with strategic objectives. Additionally, the CNE may engage in direct or indirect patient care to facilitate the education of nursing staff. Acting as a catalyst for change, the CNE serves as a resource for professional growth and clinical expertise within the designated healthcare environment.

Collaboration is key in this role, as the CNE works closely with the leadership team to implement quality improvement initiatives and to coordinate relevant educational activities. This position also requires partnership with the healthcare team at various organizational levels to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

Description:

As an Instructor, you will be recognized as a skilled practitioner and a pivotal educator. You will take charge of the planning, organization, execution, and evaluation of educational programs for nursing staff, which includes orientation, mandatory training, and ongoing professional development. Your collaboration with management and internal stakeholders will be crucial in promoting clinical standards, educational excellence, and evidence-based practices.

Your contributions will significantly impact the delivery of safe, high-quality patient and family-centered care, reflecting the core values and vision of Alberta Health Services.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate studies or degree in Nursing and/or adult education.
