Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Comfort Inn & Suites, Terrace. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of food service staff, including food preparation, portioning, and presentation.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to ensure compliance with company standards.
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure efficient food service operations.
  • Customer Service
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, addressing customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Prepare and submit reports on customer feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Operations and Administration
    • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation, maintaining accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
    • Prepare and submit reports on food service operations, including budget and cost estimates.
    • Supervise and check the assembly of trays and delivery of food trolleys to ensure timely and efficient service.
  • Team Management
    • Supervise and train a team of 3-4 food service staff, including food service counter attendants, food preparers, and kitchen and food service helpers.
    • Establish work schedules and ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities and expectations.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service supervisory role.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity.
    • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
Working Conditions

The Food Service Supervisor will work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The position requires physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
