Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Manager to join our Group Insurance team in Toronto, Ontario. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring monthly expenses, metric analysis, and other expense accounting and reporting for the Group Insurance business unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement expense processes, monthly reporting, and forecasting to support business decisions.
  • Provide valuable analysis and commentary on expense results, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with business and expense function peers to deliver forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Build relationships across business and expense functions, establishing credibility and trust.
  • Lead and coach indirect reports and extended teams of financial professionals, promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Use sound judgment to address unexpected issues and requests, prioritizing work and delivering high-quality results.
  • Identify and recommend best practices, processes, and controls to enhance expense management and reporting.
Requirements
  • Accounting designation (CMA, CA, CGA, CPA) or equivalent, with 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent.
  • Strong business acumen, with ability to communicate complex financial concepts and analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate and influence effectively.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of reporting requirements, sound business practices, and accounting principles.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently, using sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
