About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Federated Co-operatives Limited. As a key member of our People & Culture team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic HR guidance and support to our retail operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert HR advice and guidance to retail leaders on talent acquisition, performance management, employee engagement, succession planning, employee relations, and disability management.
  • Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract top talent and meet organizational needs.
  • Advise leaders on CAC performance management processes and provide coaching opportunities related to performance management.
  • Foster a positive and engaging work environment by working collaboratively with organizational leaders and the People & Culture team to implement initiatives to boost employee morale and job satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with current leaders to identify and prepare future leaders for key positions, including advising team leaders on development of career paths and growth opportunities for high-potential employees.
  • Work directly with leaders to address issues related to employment and labour standards, explain CAC policies, and ensure that best practices and legal requirements are met.
  • Develop and facilitate training programs to enhance the skills and career development of team leaders and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with Total Rewards, Health & Safety, and the Risk department to administer and support the Ability Management Program and Manage Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) claims and Disability claims.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of HR generalist experience, along with a CPHR designation or equivalent experience or designation.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, labour laws, and employment standards.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
