Environmental Remediation Project Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Remediation Project Coordinator to join our national Remediation Program Management (RPM) team at WSP Canada. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the risk and closure of contaminated sites in Ontario.

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse and growing team within WSP Canada, supporting our key clients in coordinating the risk and closure of contaminated sites. You will be working closely with our project managers and key clients to design and oversee field work related to monitoring, investigating, and remediating contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons and preparing technical reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare health and safety plans and emergency response plans.
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates.
  • Schedule field staff and subcontractors.
  • Compile data for reports.
  • Write reports including preparing conclusions and recommendations.
  • Conduct occasional field work including soil, groundwater, surface water and vapour investigations, monitoring programs and overseeing site remediation.
  • Train junior staff in environmental practices including Phase I and II ESAs, drilling, surveying, groundwater sampling, oversight of remediation etc.
  • Train staff on site specific health and safety.
Requirements
  • A university degree or above in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in contaminated site assessment, soil and groundwater sampling.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience in an engineering consulting environment.
  • An analytical mind; someone who is able to make recommendations on the next steps for client sites.
  • Willingness to grow your career within the RPM team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse teams and with multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • P.Eng. or P.Geo. designation is preferred.
