About the Remediation Program Management Team:

WSP's RPM team is one of the most reputable and dynamic teams in Canada, comprising environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, and industry experts. With over 15 years of experience in managing contaminated site programs for technically advanced clients, we consistently maintain a project backlog of 9 to 12 months, providing ample growth opportunities for our high-performing members. Our expertise spans health and safety, Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), risk assessment, and remediation. Our team undertakes significant projects nationwide, varying in type, size, and complexity, allowing the successful candidate to leverage team strengths for efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster a safe and positive workplace for colleagues.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers to:
    • Develop health and safety plans and emergency response strategies.
    • Prepare project proposals and cost estimates.
    • Schedule field personnel and subcontractors.
    • Compile data for comprehensive reports.
    • Author reports with conclusions and recommendations.
    • Conduct fieldwork, including soil, groundwater, surface water, and vapor investigations, as well as overseeing site remediation efforts.
    • Mentor junior staff in environmental practices, including ESAs, drilling, surveying, and groundwater sampling.
    • Provide training on site-specific health and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with the national RPM team and WSP.
  • Inspire team commitment to the company's guiding principles and vision.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to technicians.
  • Develop a personal career advancement plan with clear objectives.
Qualifications:
  • A university degree or higher in environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in contaminated site assessment, including soil and groundwater sampling.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in an engineering consulting environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide recommendations for client sites.
  • A desire to advance your career within the RPM team.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with diverse teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designation is preferred.
