Job Title: Permanent Full-Time Cook

The Salvation Army London Village is seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our team. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and distribute meals and snacks according to menu plans and food safety regulations.
  • Ensure the quality and safety of food served, adhering to Canada's Food Guide and applicable food service regulations.
  • Manage food supplies, including ordering, receiving, and storing inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to develop and implement menu plans that meet the dietary needs of our clients.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Working Conditions:
  • This is a permanent full-time position based on 35 hours per week.
  • Flexibility in scheduling is required to meet program requirements.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks, heavy lifting, twisting, bending, crouching, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
Qualifications and Education:
  • Completed Secondary School, plus specialized courses of up to six (6) months.
  • Cook's papers (1-year course).
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certification, Level C.
  • Current Safe Food Handling Certification.
Experience and Knowledge:
  • Minimum of two (2) years of prior work experience, with at least one year of institutional cooking experience.
