About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Scientist to join our team at Thomson Reuters Labs. As a key member of our global interdisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to drive innovation and deliver groundbreaking AI solutions that cater to the needs of our customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Experiment: Take charge of the model development lifecycle, from initial prototype to final delivery, while adhering to best practices in research and software development.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Work closely with a diverse team, sharing insights and ideas to effectively partner with colleagues around the world, and communicate your ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Deliver and Innovate: Be accountable for timely and efficient delivery of projects, and explore new technologies and approaches to tackle real-world challenges.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant field or Master's degree with equivalent experience.
  • Experience building information retrieval, natural language processing, or machine learning systems in an industry setting.
  • Strong software engineering skills for prototyping.
  • Excellent communication and data analysis abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of practical experience in IR, ML, or NLP either in academia or industry.
  • Proven track record of designing solutions using large language models.
  • Published work in reputable conferences such as ACL, EMNLP, and NeurIPS.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience in writing production-quality code and contributing to well-managed software projects.
