Job Title: Senior Scientist I

The University Health Network (UHN) is a leading research teaching hospital in Canada, and we are seeking a highly qualified Senior Scientist to join our team. As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for leading a research program in neuroimmunology, with a focus on developing new cutting-edge technologies and advancing our understanding of neural- and glial-immune interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain an original, competitive, and independently funded research program of international caliber.
  • Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a focus on immunology and neuroscience.
  • Qualify for an academic cross-appointment as an Associate Professor (status only) in the Department of Immunology, Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline, with significant postdoctoral research experience and an established record of research excellence.
  • Demonstrated evidence of successful research funding, outstanding peer-reviewed publications, and presentations at significant conferences.
  • Expertise in developing new cutting-edge technologies and strengths in neural- and glial-immune interactions, preclinical models of neuroinflammation, and/or human cohorts/samples and systems-biology approaches to neuroimmunology.
