About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist to join our team at the Princess Margaret, a world-renowned cancer research center. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing an independent research program in Cancer Biology, with a focus on functional and mechanistic research towards the development of future therapies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cancer biology, molecular biology, or a related field, and a proven track record of securing extramural funding. They will also possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams.

This is a tenure-track-equivalent position, with a career path to Senior Scientist over a six-year period. The successful candidate will be supported by a generous start-up package, independent laboratory space, and access to cutting-edge research core facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a competitive and independently funded research program in Cancer Biology
  • Contribute to the development of innovative cancer therapies through functional and mechanistic research
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance cancer research and improve patient outcomes
  • Secure extramural funding to support research activities
Requirements
  • PhD in Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
  • Proven track record of securing extramural funding
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
