About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at a well-established UK principal contractor specializing in Rail projects across the UK. The company is a leading player in the industry, with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Civil & Structural Design team, working on a variety of Rail projects, including stations, bridge construction, upgrades, access schemes, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil or Structural Engineering, with experience in Rail/Civil & Structural engineering design and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Civil & Structural Design team, ensuring high-quality design documents are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Coordinate with CAD Technicians to ensure designs meet client expectations.
  • Develop and implement design strategies to improve project efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with the Design Manager to ensure design solutions meet client requirements.
  • Contribute to tendering processes, providing design expertise and input.
  • Monitor project costs and ensure adherence to budget.
  • Maintain quality assurance processes, ensuring designs meet industry standards.
  • Produce risk assessments and provide progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Design civil infrastructure, including bridges, footbridges, and tunnels.
  • Introduce improvements to design processes and procedures.
  • Develop specifications and calculations for design projects.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of technicians and engineers to deliver high-quality projects.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered or Incorporated status with a relevant professional body.
  • Experience in Rail/Civil & Structural engineering design.
  • Experience leading teams and managing design projects.
  • Familiarity with Network Rail CAD standards.
  • Proficiency in BIM environment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • UK citizen or with indefinite leave to remain.
