Job Title: Landscape Maintenance Supervisor

Davis Landscaping is in search of a dedicated individual for a full-time role as a Landscape Maintenance Supervisor. Experience in both residential and commercial landscaping is essential for this position.

Qualifications
  1. Exceptional communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
  2. Dependable and punctual.
  3. Strong attention to detail, capable of multitasking, and focused on achieving results.
  4. At least 2 years of experience as a horticulture technician or landscaper in maintenance and construction.
  5. Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  6. Proficient in operating necessary landscape maintenance machinery, small construction equipment, and commercial sod machinery.
  7. Capability to interpret landscape designs and specifications is advantageous and training will be provided.
  8. Good knowledge of plant species and identification is required.
  9. Possession of a valid Class "G" Driver's License (must be 25 years or older to be insurable) and experience with towing trailers.
  10. A diploma or certification in landscaping is preferred.
  11. Spanish language skills are a plus but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure all tasks are performed according to Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) standards.
  2. Maintain effective communication with supervisors and management to address maintenance warranties, on-site challenges, and resource needs.
  3. Organize tasks based on priorities and plans, making adjustments as necessary due to weather conditions, supply deliveries, and workforce availability.
  4. Provide training and mentorship to team members.
  5. Foster positive working relationships within the crew.
  6. Complete daily electronic logs and time sheets accurately.
  7. Offer time and equipment estimates for work as required.
  8. Ensure all necessary materials, equipment, and tools are available on-site as needed.
  9. Accountable for the quality and completion of assigned tasks.
  10. Perform maintenance on lawns, trees, shrubs, and perennials as needed.
  11. Execute small-scale landscape construction projects and commercial sod installations when required.
  12. Operate all equipment safely and responsibly.
  13. Conduct minor maintenance and repairs on equipment.
  14. Ensure daily completion and quality of all activities.
  15. Oversee all aspects of commercial and residential landscape construction projects.
  16. Work safely to protect yourself and others.
  17. Understand the hazards associated with tasks and the controls in place.
  18. Conduct daily Pre-job Safety Assessments (PSA) and weekly toolbox safety discussions.
  19. Utilize equipment, protective devices, and clothing in accordance with OHSA regulations and company safety policies.
  20. Report all incidents, unsafe conditions, and unidentified hazards to your supervisor.
  21. Complete pre-use inspections for equipment before operation.
  22. Participate in WHMIS, 5 Step Health & Safety Awareness, Workplace Violence & Harassment for Supervisors, and AODA training.

This is a full-time seasonal position. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience. References are required.
