Position Summary:

  • Assess and scrutinize insurance submissions to evaluate risk, eligibility, and thoroughness.
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting standards and the precision of policies.
  • Deliver exceptional service to Brokers and Market Partners.
  • Process an average of 15 policies each day, maintaining accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Address and resolve issues escalated by Brokers or Market Partners.
  • Support administrative functions for the Portfolio Underwriting Team.
  • Reach out to brokers and market partners for any missing information or documentation.
  • Promptly manage and respond to emails, voicemails, calls, and messages.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and training of new Portfolio Underwriters.
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to projects as necessary.
  • Engage in team discussions related to underwriting and personal lines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of secondary education or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Post-secondary education in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Personal Lines underwriting is essential.
  • Experience in supervisory roles is advantageous.
  • RIBO license, CIP, or CAIB designation is considered an asset.
