Position Overview

The Information Technology Supervisor role encompasses both leadership and specialized assistance concerning system applications, infrastructure, and security. This position is accountable for the continuous upkeep and evaluation of information systems, ensuring optimal functionality and security of the environment, ongoing implementation of system automations, daily operations, security improvements, upgrades, and integration of all systems, including but not limited to desktops, servers, networks, telecommunication systems, applications, and core banking systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Oversee the IT team, including recruitment, development, coaching, recognition, and performance evaluation.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate strong working relationships and a deep understanding of IT systems usage within the organization to ensure a high-performing environment that consistently enhances service experiences for members and staff.
  • Service Standards: Assist in the development and implementation of service standards in alignment with industry frameworks such as ITIL.
  • Security Management: Establish and maintain a secure environment by integrating industry frameworks such as CIS Top 18 and NIST. Develop and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to provide an overview of the current environmental status.
  • Budget Management: Prepare, submit, and oversee IT budgets.

IT Support Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in designing and implementing an environment that meets current and future needs, including strategic design for on-premise and cloud services while ensuring proper security and recovery of services, data, and other assets.
  • Implement and maintain all technology services, including virtualization, storage area networks (SANs), servers, networks (WAN/LAN), email, client endpoints, printers, applications, etc., along with all associated security measures to safeguard the environment.
  • Lead the design, testing, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery plans for existing and new services to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Monitor system performance and security, ensuring the safety and availability of all systems, services, and data through appropriate controls.
  • Ensure backups comply with data retention requirements and provide data management protection based on classification levels.
  • Generate reports and scorecards for executive management detailing the status of all systems and applications (availability, support status, patching levels, version status, etc.).
  • Assist in the formulation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Lead IT audits and collaborate with auditors to gain an external perspective of the environment and implement necessary remediation steps.
  • Collaborate with all business areas to identify technology needs and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Engage with third-party service providers to ensure system uptime, performance, and stability, adhering to vendor management guidelines for key partners.
  • Understand regulatory requirements and ensure internal frameworks comply with these standards. Familiarity with core frameworks such as COBIT, NIST, ISO27001, and CIS Top20/18 is essential for building organizational maturity.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of post-secondary education in engineering, computer science, or a related field, along with relevant experience in a senior infrastructure role.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in IT management.
  • Over 10 years of experience in a senior IT infrastructure role.
  • More than 10 years of security experience focusing on frameworks, audits, and implementing controls in data-sensitive environments.
  • Extensive experience with advanced infrastructure technologies such as networking, storage area networks (SAN), collaboration solutions, and security controls.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with banking systems is advantageous.
  • IT certifications related to VMWare, Exchange, Windows Server, and cloud technologies are beneficial.
  • Security-related certifications are a plus.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
