Job Description

Overview: Sales Account Executives deliver prompt and courteous service by proactively engaging with customers to understand their requirements and offer support. These professionals collaborate with their managers and fellow sales staff across various departments. Key areas may include Lumber, Building Materials, Paint, Hardware, Electrical, Plumbing, Seasonal, and Tool Rental.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage customers with open-ended inquiries about their projects to assess their needs and expertise level.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Articulate the features and advantages of products.
  • Guide customers through the necessary steps to complete their projects and recommend appropriate products.
  • Maintain the organized and safe condition of assigned sections, ensuring stock availability.
  • Perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods; comfortable using ladders.
  • Prepare, organize, and confirm orders for delivery or customer pickup.
  • Utilize computer systems and/or portable devices to check inventory, track orders, and inform customers when items are ready for collection.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in closing sales and achieving sales goals.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in a sales-focused environment.
  • Background in trade is advantageous.
