Position Overview

The Consumable Regional Sales Executive at STERIS is tasked with ensuring optimal financial outcomes and customer satisfaction within the designated region. This role involves achieving annual sales targets, expanding market share against competitors, and ensuring that all customer interactions are positive and exceed expectations. The Regional Sales Executive serves as the primary liaison and sales advisor responsible for the customer experience across various departments.

This position is remote and customer-facing. To effectively support our clients in the assigned region, candidates should be located in Quebec City or Montreal, Quebec.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulates and executes annual business strategies for the assigned territory, focusing on opportunity identification, competitive tactics, and sales growth targets. Monitors and enhances market share for all assigned products and services.
  • Proactively identifies revenue growth opportunities while ensuring account retention within the designated territory.
  • Conducts thorough analyses and prepares comprehensive proposals for new sales. Negotiates customer agreements while leveraging the full range of STERIS products and services, collaborating closely with our sales unit counterparts.
  • Engages with a diverse range of stakeholders within healthcare facilities, including executive leadership, department heads, and clinical staff.
  • Establishes and nurtures consultative sales relationships with key decision-makers in each account, continuously enhancing these relationships through regular communication and ongoing education about industry developments.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of each account's history, key contacts, and current and future purchasing plans for designated products.
  • Builds relationships with stakeholders in various departments, including Infection Prevention, Operating Room, and Risk Management.
Qualifications for Success
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Business or Marketing.
  • 3 to 5 years of sales experience with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives; at least 2 of those years should be in B2B or medical device sales.
  • Demonstrated success in selling new products, increasing utilization, and maintaining market share.
  • Experience in the sales of medical and consumable equipment, with a focus on various departments including GI and Environmental Services.
  • Familiarity with the hospital procurement process, including the roles of National Accounts and GPOs, is preferred.
  • Must comply with hospital and customer credentialing requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, particularly in project and conflict management.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Adherence to all GMP policies and procedures as outlined by regulatory bodies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
