Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive financial expert to take on the role of Assistant Plant Controller at Magna Autosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions within the Autosystems division
- Perform bank transactions and reconciliations
- Lead the month-end closing procedures
- Manage General Ledger activities, including interfacing and posting
- Maintain the Chart of Accounts
- Conduct inventory reconciliations
- Track and forecast weekly expenses
- Support the budgeting and forecasting processes on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
- Execute various account reconciliations
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports on scrap and efficiency
- Forecast accounts payable and receivable
- Engage in regular communication with management regarding financial issues
- Perform additional duties as required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or Commerce
- Professional accounting designation (CPA) or nearing completion
- Three to five years of accounting experience, preferably in the automotive sector
- Experience in a supervisory capacity is advantageous
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Advanced knowledge of Excel formulas is a plus
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to varying schedules
