POSITION SUMMARY

The Technician III-Roving plays a crucial role in overseeing facility operations, which includes mechanical and other supporting systems. This position involves conducting structured inspections, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, and providing routine and on-demand services for facility mechanical equipment and systems. The Technician III-Roving is also responsible for adhering to established processes and practices while ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection standards.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Troubleshooting

  • Observes and assesses the condition of facility, mechanical, and electrical equipment, identifying deficiencies and suggesting enhancements and repairs.

Maintenance

  • Executes tasks in accordance with established protocols and practices.
  • Adheres to all internal and external regulations, including environmental, health and safety, and fire protection standards.
  • Conducts regular inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure facility uptime objectives are achieved, maintaining uninterrupted client operations and asset integrity.
  • Responds to service requests, performing preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Monitors assigned facilities through walkthroughs for mechanical, electrical, and other system inspections.
  • Operates mechanical and other facility systems.
  • Manages the work order lifecycle, progressing tasks from dispatch to completion, and records resolution data within the service maintenance management database.
  • Assists in implementing the preventative maintenance (PM) program, ensuring deficiencies are identified, documented, and escalated appropriately.

Client Relations

  • Aids in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction, fostering positive relations through effective service delivery.

Administration

  • Participates in facility-related projects and initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate and legislative policies, procedures, and guidelines related to environmental, health and safety, and fire protection.
  • Maintains all assigned tools, arranging for repair and replacement as necessary.
  • Submits all expenditures promptly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma with trades training and/or certification or licensing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, or pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Strong knowledge of facility operations and maintenance processes.
  • Proven ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
  • Strong commitment to environmental, health, and safety practices.
  • Excellent client-service orientation with a high sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) and HVAC Systems.
  • Effective communication skills for data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.
  • Mentoring skills to support the development of junior technicians.
  • Willingness to work shifts and be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs.
  • Adherence to Health and Safety policies, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to obtain appropriate security clearance.
  • Valid driver's license.
