Senior Credit and Collections Specialist

Reporting to: Credit Manager
Carrier Enterprise Canada is a leading distributor of HVAC/R products, proudly offering the Carrier, Bryant, and Payne brands for both commercial and residential applications. We are seeking a dedicated Senior Credit and Collections Specialist to oversee our credit and collections operations.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Credit and Collections Specialist, you will:
- Manage the company's credit and collections processes to ensure timely payments and minimize bad debt risks.
- Analyze credit applications and evaluate credit risk, while negotiating payment terms and setting credit limits.
- Oversee the collections process, tracking overdue accounts and liaising with clients to resolve outstanding issues.
- Conduct thorough credit report analyses, establish credit limits, and facilitate the opening of new accounts.
- Engage in daily collections activities via phone or email to ensure prompt collection of all accounts.
- Recommend accounts for third-party collections when necessary.
- Maintain regular communication with Sales, Billing, and Operations teams.
- Prepare detailed customer reconciliations as required.
- Handle incoming customer inquiries in a professional manner.
- Conduct annual credit reviews for all accounts in accordance with company policy.
- Analyze and process Job Information Sheets for specific commercial credit lines.
- Educate both internal and external customers regarding company credit policies.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Credit and Collections role or similar.
- Preference for candidates with 5-10 years of experience in the HVAC industry.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel capabilities.
- Proficiency in both French and English is highly advantageous.
