With a vast network of locations across Canada, we are seeking a dedicated Senior Credit & Collections Administrator to enhance our financial operations.
Role Overview:
The Senior Credit & Collections Administrator plays a pivotal role in overseeing the credit and collections framework of the organization. This position is essential for ensuring prompt payments and mitigating the potential for bad debt. The incumbent will evaluate credit applications, determine creditworthiness, negotiate payment arrangements, and set credit limits. Additionally, the role involves managing the collections process, monitoring overdue accounts, and liaising with clients to address any discrepancies. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication, analytical, and negotiation abilities, along with a solid grasp of financial reporting and analysis. Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing credit reports, establishing credit limits, and onboarding new accounts.
- Conducting daily collections activities via phone and email to secure timely payments.
- Identifying and resolving customer disputes and deductions efficiently.
- Escalating unresolved matters to the sales or management teams.
- Recommending accounts for third-party collections when necessary.
- Understanding the Construction Act as it pertains to credit management.
- Maintaining regular communication with Sales, Billing, and Operations teams.
- Preparing detailed reconciliations for customers as required.
- Managing incoming customer inquiries in a queue environment.
- Conducting annual credit reviews in accordance with company policy.
- Analyzing and processing Job Information Sheets for specific commercial credit lines.
- Monitoring and managing orders held in the system.
- Educating both internal and external customers about company credit policies.
- Enhancing quality and value in existing processes as part of daily responsibilities.
- Aligning business development priorities with corporate objectives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Credit & Collections role or a similar capacity, with preference for candidates possessing HVAC experience.
- A post-secondary degree or diploma is required.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong negotiation capabilities.
- Good analytical skills and foundational accounting knowledge.
- Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- A positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.
- Fluency in both French and English is an asset.
