Position – Senior Credit & Collections Administrator

Reporting to: Credit Manager

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Carrier Enterprise Canada is a prominent subsidiary of Watsco, Inc., the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company globally. We specialize in distributing top-tier HVAC equipment, including Carrier, Bryant, and Payne brands, serving both Commercial and Residential markets, alongside a comprehensive range of aftermarket parts and accessories. With 36 locations across Canada, we are seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Senior Credit & Collections Administrator.

Key Responsibilities:

The Senior Credit & Collections Administrator will oversee the credit and collections operations of the company, ensuring prompt payments and minimizing the risk of financial losses. This role involves evaluating credit applications, assessing creditworthiness, negotiating payment arrangements, and setting credit limits. Additionally, the administrator will manage the collections process, monitor overdue accounts, and liaise with clients to resolve any outstanding issues. Essential duties include:

  • Evaluating credit reports, establishing credit limits, and onboarding new accounts.
  • Conducting daily collections activities via phone or email to secure timely payments.
  • Identifying, investigating, and resolving customer deductions and disputes efficiently.
  • Escalating unresolved matters to the sales or management teams.
  • Recommending accounts for third-party collections when necessary.
  • Understanding the Construction Act as part of required skills.
  • Maintaining regular communication with Sales, Billing, and Operations teams.
  • Preparing detailed reconciliations for customers as needed.
  • Managing incoming customer inquiries in a call queue environment.
  • Conducting annual credit reviews for all accounts in accordance with the Credit Policy.
  • Analyzing and processing 'Job Information Sheets' for specific commercial credit lines.
  • Monitoring and managing orders held within the system.
  • Educating internal and external customers about company credit policies.
  • Enhancing quality and value in existing processes as part of daily responsibilities.
  • Addressing issues related to aligning business development priorities with corporate objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Senior Credit & Collections role or similar, with preference for candidates possessing 5-10 years of HVAC experience.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent negotiation capabilities.
  • Solid analytical and basic accounting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • A high-energy, positive attitude, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Fluency in both French and English is considered an asset.
