Head of Sales and Business Development

We are seeking a seasoned sales leader to drive revenue growth at Caravel Law, a pioneering law firm in Canada.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully growing sales teams and exceeding business objectives. With a minimum of 5 years of experience in sales leadership and 10 years of selling to C-Level Executives and/or Legal Departments, this individual will be responsible for coaching the team to meet new client acquisition goals and establishing strategic relationships with new and existing clients.
The Head of Sales and Business Development will partner with firm leadership to develop and execute a go-to-market strategy, including codifying the Unique Value Proposition (UVP), identifying target accounts, and key buying personas. They will also collaborate with marketing to drive top-of-the-funnel activities and generate leads for the business development team to pursue.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coaching team members to consistently meet new client acquisition goals
- Partnering with firm leadership on go-to-market strategy and UVP development
- Prospecting and closing new business based on the Ideal Client Profile (ICP)
- Collaborating with marketing on top-of-the-funnel activities
- Evangelizing Caravel's services and UVP within the legal services industry
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of the changing legal landscape and issues faced by potential clients
The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree (MBA or JD) being a plus. They will also have experience selling professional services to executive teams and/or corporate legal departments, as well as demonstrated ability and willingness to serve in a player-coach role and book business directly while coaching the team.
