Substitute Bus Monitor

Job Summary:
Mooresville Graded School District seeks a reliable and safety-conscious Substitute Bus Monitor to provide exceptional student transportation services. As a key member of our transportation team, you will ensure the safe and efficient transportation of students with special needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist exceptional students with special equipment and provide safe entry and exit from the bus.
- Lift and place students comfortably as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Monitor student behavior and intervene in conflicts, maintaining a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.
- Report problems and concerns to designated authorities, adhering to mandatory safety regulations.
- Learn and remember bus routes, ensuring timely and efficient transportation.
- Participate in training and meetings to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Education and/or experience demonstrating qualifications to perform the job satisfactorily.
- Wheelchair training for handicapped buses.
- Ability to work as needed, with a 10-month term of employment.
Working Conditions:
As a Substitute Bus Monitor, you will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with students, parents, and school staff. You must be able to lift and move students safely, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
