Bus Monitor Assistant

Job Summary:
The Bus Monitor will provide safe and efficient transportation for students by monitoring behavior and attending to special needs while on school buses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist exceptional students with special equipment and ensure safe entry and exit from the bus.
- Lift and place students comfortably as needed.
- Seat students in their assigned location and monitor behavior.
- Intervene in conflicts between students and maintain confidentiality.
- Report problems and concerns to designated authorities.
- Learn and remember bus routes and observe safety regulations.
- Assist in keeping the bus clean and check-in/check-out as directed.
- Enforce regulations against smoking and eating on buses.
- Participate in training and meetings.
Requirements:
- Education and/or experience demonstrating qualifications to perform the job satisfactorily.
- Wheelchair training for handicapped buses.
- Reports to the Director of Transportation.
Terms of Employment: 10-month year working as needed.
