Position Overview

The role of a Handyperson involves a variety of maintenance tasks essential for the upkeep of facilities. This position requires a proactive individual who can work independently and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role is preferred.
Work Environment

The work will be conducted in various settings, including construction sites, and will require adaptability to all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing floors and hallways.
  • Utilize industrial vacuum cleaners to eliminate debris and refuse.
  • Manage waste disposal by emptying trash cans and containers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, and ceilings.
  • Conduct minor repairs and adjustments to heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical systems, while coordinating with tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Facilitate communication with contractors for maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Assist in showing properties to potential tenants.
  • Handle the movement of heavy furniture and equipment.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, including painting and drywall repairs.
  • Care for plants, lawns, and gardens.
  • Ensure bathrooms and fixtures are cleaned and disinfected.
  • Work with minimal supervision while maintaining a high standard of work.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
Physical Requirements

This position involves repetitive tasks and is physically demanding, requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling.
