Organizational Overview: Volunteer Manitoba is dedicated to enhancing the lives of youth through innovative Equine Facilitated Learning Programs tailored for students in grades 5-9. This experiential learning method fosters essential life skills, aiding participants in achieving their educational, professional, and personal aspirations through engaging equine activities.

As an accredited center by the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA), we adhere to the highest standards and safety protocols established by the organization.

Our Vision: Volunteer Manitoba strives to empower young individuals to actively participate in their education and community, achieving personal milestones through immersive learning experiences with horses.

Volunteer Role Overview

Volunteer Role ID: 4389

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a committed team of board members, volunteers, and staff to positively impact youth in our community.
  • Leverage your expertise in governance, strategic planning, marketing, and financial oversight.
  • Expand your professional and personal connections.
  • Gain insights into the benefits of equine-assisted learning.

Position Type: Volunteer
Commitment: 4-6 hours per month. Some meetings may be conducted virtually.
Duration: Board members serve a two-year term, with the possibility of renewal.

Qualifications: Previous experience on a board is preferred but not mandatory. No prior horse experience is required.

Location: Manitoba

Important Note: Board members must undergo a criminal record check and a child abuse registry check.

Age Range: 31-54, 55+

Time Commitment: Evening and Weekend Availability
