Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to join our team at Youth for Christ Winnipeg. As a Counsellor, you will provide professional and affordable care to youth and families, working in a supportive environment to help them make healthy, life-giving choices.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Individual Counselling and Support: Provide one-on-one counselling and mental health support to youth and families, working collaboratively with our existing team of counsellors.
  2. Resource Provision and Referrals: Offer support to YFC staff and volunteers through resources, referrals, educational opportunities, and counselling, connecting clients to various resources as needed.
  3. Community Networking: Establish and maintain relationships with other community agencies to provide collaborative care for the youth and families we serve.
Requirements
  1. Personal Qualities: Maintain a close, intimate relationship with God as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and be an active participant in the life of a local church.
  2. Professional Qualifications: Possess a Master's degree in counselling or a related field, and be a member of a professional counselling association.
  3. Experience and Skills: Prior counselling experience with youth and families is an asset, and you should be able to work well in a team as well as on your own, with strong communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
  4. Core Values: Embrace YFC's core values with a strong heart for evangelism, and be committed to our organization's Community Covenant and Statement of Faith.
