Position Overview

CIMCO is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Shop Supervisor to join our team at our production facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a diverse team of over 30 skilled tradespeople in a manufacturing environment, including welders, fitters, and electrical technicians.
  • Track work progress and quality to ensure timely completion of projects according to specifications.
  • Establish and manage timing parameters for various production stages and organize production schedules accordingly.
  • Ensure accountability within the shop to meet commitments and obligations to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with fitters and welders to resolve and troubleshoot welding challenges.
  • Provide direction and training to employees on safety protocols and equipment usage.
  • Assist the business in decision-making related to client project quotations and bids.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials utilized, and any safety incidents or violations.
  • Support the recruitment and training of new team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with piping and vessel operations is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with TSSA regulations is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a foreman, supervisor, or shop/fabrication manager.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage, coach, and mentor a team.
  • Hands-on training and coaching capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong oral and written communication.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Understanding of working in a unionized setting.
