Your Role

The Sea Logistics Account Executive is responsible for driving sales within a designated area, focusing on the sea logistics service line. This role also encompasses the ability to promote additional Kuehne+Nagel services, including airfreight, road freight, contract logistics, customs brokerage, and insurance solutions. You will manage a specific portfolio of accounts as outlined by the Regional Sea Logistics Director, with a primary focus on fostering growth in the Sea Logistics sector.

Your Responsibilities

  • Enhance sales performance by developing new lane segments and implementing effective product marketing and customer support strategies.
  • Formulate a strategic approach to nurture existing client relationships, identifying cross-selling opportunities.
  • Identify and secure new business prospects while establishing a systematic approach for account qualification.
  • Achieve revenue growth by meeting or surpassing established sales targets.
  • Manage and cultivate relationships with assigned customers.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive sales plan aimed at achieving success.
  • Exhibit proficiency in the Sea Logistics product and service offerings, managing sales in a structured and effective manner.
  • Acquire the skills necessary to sell Airfreight, Road Freight, Customs brokerage, contract logistics, and insurance services.
  • Engage with clients, organize meetings, deliver presentations, and negotiate pricing with confidence.
  • Document all customer interactions in the company CRM system and develop customer insights.
  • Oversee all orders, quotes, follow-ups, and customer communications.
  • Prepare a weekly sales activity report for management, summarizing activities and new revenue opportunities based on CRM data.
  • Participate in scheduled sales meetings.
  • Assist Sea Logistics Product Management by conducting competitive analyses and suggesting enhancements to service offerings, while actively contributing to the improvement of marketing materials.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the company.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • A minimum of 5 years of field sales experience is required; prior operational experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in PC operations and experienced with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with sea logistics services, including FCL, LCL, special equipment, consolidations, trans-loading, and drayage services.
  • Proactive and customer-oriented; prior sales and/or customer service experience is beneficial.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective presentation and client relationship skills, complemented by excellent listening abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Goal-oriented, self-disciplined, and motivated to achieve results.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
