The Project EIT plays a crucial role in assisting Project Engineers and Engineering Managers with the coordination of project execution, ensuring alignment with client expectations and objectives while adhering to budgetary and scheduling constraints, as well as quality standards. This role employs a variety of standard problem-solving techniques to manage assignments of limited scope and complexity. The position involves applying technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices to support the design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning of oil and gas facilities worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize practical knowledge to develop a diverse skill set while contributing to the success of Propak's operations through collaboration with a cross-functional team;
  • Coordinate specific multi-disciplinary functions or areas within the project scope, covering engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning as applicable;
  • Assist in managing interfaces with key project stakeholders;
  • Collaborate with senior project managers to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion according to contractual obligations;
  • Aid in managing project scope and coordinating change management submissions and processes;
  • Participate in reviews of Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) and Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs);
  • Prepare and maintain lists of lines, equipment, instrumentation, and specialty items;
  • Assist in the sizing and selection of project valves, instrumentation, and process equipment;
  • Engage in the Bid / Evaluate / Award process;
  • Collaborate with purchasing and expediting teams to follow up on procurement;
  • Review and approve vendor drawings and documentation;
  • Review and approve fabrication drawings;
  • Participate in 3D model reviews and construction planning meetings;
  • Coordinate and review the compilation of Project Data and Operating Manuals for distribution to the project team and client;
  • Conduct shop inspections and resolve technical issues;
  • Review shipping lists;
  • Assist in resolving shop and field Requests for Information (RFIs).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution;
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with APEGA;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
  • Demonstrated aptitude in project management;
  • Ability to apply relevant theoretical and practical engineering principles to address challenges;
  • Capability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Adaptability to meet objectives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and strict deadlines;
  • Ability to foresee the implications of changes and plan accordingly;
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and graphical communication skills, with a focus on clear and respectful communication;
  • Excellent reading, research, and analytical skills, with the capacity to interpret and utilize complex information;
  • Understanding of intricate verbal and written instructions;
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational, time management, and planning abilities;
  • Capability to monitor the quality of one's own work and establish systems for ensuring accuracy.
