Position Summary

Propak Systems Ltd. stands as a prominent entity in the engineering, fabrication, and construction sectors, particularly focusing on gas compression and processing facilities for the energy sector. We are currently in search of Apprentice Sheet Metal Fabricators to enhance our Fabrication Shops.

We provide a variety of shifts including daytime, evening, and weekends, with attractive premiums for evening and weekend work. Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret engineering and architectural drawings, sketches, and work specifications to accurately layout, measure, and mark sheet metal as per provided designs or templates.
  • Operate light metalworking machinery such as shears, brakes, and drill presses.
  • Utilize rigging and hoisting equipment effectively.
  • Assemble and connect sheet metal components using riveting, welding, soldering, and similar techniques to create products like ventilation systems, exhaust hoods, eaves-troughs, partition frames, air and heat ducts, material handling systems, roof decking, and sheet metal structures.
  • Install sheet metal products in accordance with specifications and relevant building codes.
  • Conduct quality inspections of products and installations to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Remain attentive to instructions and work diligently to meet established goals, action plans, and project timelines.
  • Apply knowledge and skills acquired from mentors and coaches to successfully complete the apprenticeship program.

Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for registration as a registered apprentice; or
  • Current registration as an apprentice.
  • A strong motivation to learn and develop skills.
  • As a condition of employment, new hires must sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, a Conflict of Interest Agreement, and a Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
