Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child and Family Case Manager to join our team at Northwest Employment Works. As a key member of our SNAP Program, you will play a vital role in ensuring the current developmental, treatment, and psycho-social needs of children, youth, and families are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and develop treatment plans tailored to the individual strengths and needs of clients, managing risky behaviors when necessary.
  • Engage with hard-to-reach clients and work collaboratively with families to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Deliver evidence-based programs, including individual, family, and group counseling, within the framework of our agency's vision and mission.
  • Liaise with child welfare, schools, police, and other community partners to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to address the complexities of family life, group dynamics, and behavior management techniques.
Requirements
  • A minimum two-year Human Services Diploma is required. A HBSW is preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in the provision of counseling services to Anishinabek children, youth, and their families is preferred.
  • SNAP training/certification would be considered an asset.
  • Candidates without the specific education qualifications and where the position does not require certified qualification to practice, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications will also be considered.
  • A satisfactory Criminal Records Check, Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • The ability to work flexible hours as determined by the SNAP Program Manager in relation to service requirements.
  • Must possess a Class "G" Driver's License and have access to a personal vehicle.
  • A valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate is recommended.
  • Some travel to First Nations communities in and around the District of Thunder Bay will be required.
Working Conditions

Hours of Work: 32.5 per week

Salary Range: $25.08 To 32.73 Hourly
