Job Summary

Anishinaabe Abinoojii Family Services is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing bill payments, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and generating essential reports for organizational operations and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and process accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate payments
  • Verify invoices and reconcile accounts to ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Generate reports and provide financial analysis to support organizational decision-making
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Develop and implement processes to improve financial efficiency and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with staff and management to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
  • Community College Diploma or High School Diploma with three years direct related experience
  • Proficiency in Sage Intacct accounting software
  • Knowledge of Customary Care and the philosophy of service delivery, First Nation communities, family structure, as well as local customs and traditions
  • Thorough knowledge of the administrative structure and operations of Anishinaabe Abinoojii Family Services
  • Ability to establish and maintain purposeful relationships with staff, management, board members, vendors, and other community service providers
  • Ability to ensure accounts payable for different programs are delivered with excellence and conform to provincial legislation, regulations, and funding framework
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Extensive experience working with a computerized accounting system
  • Demonstrated ability to compile financial information and prepare reports
Working Conditions

This position offers the possibility of remote work, allowing the successful candidate to perform their duties from a location acceptable to AAFS. However, occasional travel to the AAFS administration office and semi-remote Anishinaabe communities may be required.
