Homewood Ravensview is a private facility with 75 beds, specializing in mental health, trauma, and addiction services, providing evidence-based, medically-led inpatient care for various populations, including first responders, military personnel, veterans, executives, professionals, adults, and young adults.

Situated on 28 acres of forested hillside, Homewood Ravensview offers clients a safe and comfortable environment with stunning ocean views from spacious accommodations, inviting common areas, and a world-class team of healthcare professionals.

As a Psychologist, you will play a crucial role within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to delivering integrated services and programs to our clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical assessments, including developing working diagnoses and treatment plans
  • Integrate psychosocial evaluations into the team's treatment strategies
  • Facilitate group counseling sessions multiple times each week
  • Provide individualized counseling tailored to clients' specific treatment objectives
  • Design and present psycho-educational workshops for clients
  • Offer clinical leadership during community meetings
  • Engage in clinical interventions and family discussions
  • Collaborate actively with a multidisciplinary team, including Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Physicians, Social Workers, Clinical Counsellors, Occupational Therapists, Recreation Therapists, and Nurses to prepare assessments, client reviews, treatment plans, therapeutic interventions, and discharge strategies
  • Maintain accurate verbal and written documentation regarding assessments and client progress, adhering to program policies and professional standards
  • Utilize informed consent processes to ensure continuity of care through effective communication with clients, family members, physicians, team members, other service providers, and the client's personal support network
Qualifications

  • PhD in Clinical Psychology from an APA or CPA accredited program
  • Registered with the College of Psychologists of BC
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in assessing and treating individuals with mood/anxiety disorders, PTSD, substance use disorders, process addiction, and concurrent disorders (supervised practice may be considered for the right candidate)
  • Strong understanding of symptom clusters and the diagnosis of PTSD and related disorders
  • Proven skills and experience in treatment, assessment, and research
  • Excellent report writing abilities
  • Knowledge of emotional regulation techniques, grounding skills, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness strategies
  • Proficient computer skills, including the use of electronic medical records and computerized assessment tools
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
