Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team at Extendicare (Canada) Inc. as a Nursing Care Specialist. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and hygiene assistance to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, as well as serving meal trays and snacks.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, including walking, standing, and using wheelchairs or stretchers.
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, including laundry and linen management.
  • Administer first aid and provide emergency care as needed.
  • Provide companionship and social support to residents, engaging in activities and conversations to promote their well-being.
Requirements
  • College diploma or certificate in Personal Support Work or a related field.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate and First Aid Certificate.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a long-term care facility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting.
