Job Overview

As a Personal Support Worker specializing in nursing care, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of personal and medical support tasks, ensuring that each individual receives the attention and care they deserve.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a college diploma or a non-university certificate from a program lasting 1 to 2 years, or equivalent experience in a related field.

Work Environment
  • Various settings including nursing homes and facilities for the elderly
  • Willingness to relocate is essential
  • Staff accommodation may be available
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal hygiene and grooming
  • Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure and temperature
  • Support residents during meal times
  • Provide mobility assistance including lifting and positioning
  • Maintain cleanliness in residents' living spaces
  • Transport individuals using wheelchairs or stretchers
  • Collect medical specimens as required
  • Administer first aid when necessary
  • Foster companionship and emotional support
  • Perform light housekeeping duties
  • Handle laundry and personal items
Certifications Required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
