Job Summary

The Administrative Supervisor, Operational Support, is a key role within BC Housing, responsible for leading and overseeing a centralized operations administrative team. This team focuses on both branch and commission-wide administrative functions and facilities management and maintenance, ensuring the efficient operation of the branch and commission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise administrative staff and manage branch-specific and commission-wide administrative processes, including calendar management, P-Card administration, purchasing, and PO processing.
  • Provide provincial oversight to commission-wide administrative policies and processes.
  • Manage centralized clerical support services by deploying staff resources as needed to locations within the Lower Mainland.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Health and Safety department (OHS), Security and Emergency Services (SES) to establish and execute procedures and protocols for facility-related services.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration or a related field.
  • Considerable experience in administrative support or office management in a large/complex organization.
  • Considerable experience in leading and mentoring administrative support teams.

  • Considerable knowledge of administrative procedures and practices in a large complex organization.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional customer service, oral and written communication, presentation, consultative, consensus building, conflict resolution, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic, critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in office software applications and tools, including Microsoft Office products and other resource booking software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong leadership skills with high attention to detail and the ability to ensure efficient functioning of operational processes and facilities.
  • Empathetic, non-judgmental, with the ability to work and collaborate with individuals from various cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and motivate staff in a team setting.
  • Exceptional ability to plan, manage, and allocate administrative resources to support accomplishment of branch goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to travel to various sites regularly and access to reliable transportation.
