Senior Mechanical Engineer in Mining Operations

Position Overview: CB Canada is seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer to support our operations in the Mining and Refining sector. This position is crucial for delivering comprehensive Mechanical Engineering expertise on-site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to technical (Mechanical) specifications in line with company protocols and industry regulations.
  • Oversee project cost estimation, scheduling, quality assurance, and safety measures.
  • Facilitate the fabrication, installation, and commissioning processes of equipment.
  • Evaluate contractor invoices and confirm compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate technical contributions and define the scope of work.
  • Track project budgets and timelines effectively.
  • Develop and implement safe work action plans in accordance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
  • Provide engineering assistance during maintenance activities, particularly during plant shutdowns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer designation, registered with the appropriate regulatory body.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in an industrial setting, preferably in chemical processing.
  • Familiarity with ASME and API standards.
  • Experience with piping systems, static, and rotating machinery.
  • Understanding of Alberta Pressure Equipment Safety regulations and ABSA standards.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as PV-Elite and Caesar II is advantageous.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience in preparing engineering documentation.
