Position Summary
An exciting opportunity exists in our Metals Division for a Production Engineer. This position will be based out of our Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta plant site.
Reporting to the Manager, Operations Technical Services, the Engineer, Production is to provide advice and monitor the production and efficiency of the plant units in a 3-month to 1-year time frame, as well as provide Process Engineering support to the operating plants.
Accountabilities
- Conduct monthly consumption indices reporting and review.
- Prepare an annual consumption index budget for operations.
- Provide monthly input to the metallurgical balance.
- Assist with the completion of Environmental Incident Reports.
- Review and apply continuous improvement to process alarms using the Alarm Management system.
- Advise on compliance to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Support creation and review of operations standards and procedures that are in place that deliver zero harm to employees, the environment, and neighboring communities.
- Provide process engineering design and implementation manager functions to expense MOC projects.
- Monitor daily plant operation/performance and report on daily key performance indicators.
- Lead and support day-to-day plant troubleshooting.
- Lead continuous improvement.
- Provide support for shutdown and maintenance activity planning and execution.
- Provide engineering support for plant trials.
- Conduct equipment performance monitoring and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
- P. Eng or EIT designation with APEGA.
- Ability to develop and implement a 3 to 12-month business plan.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate and influence effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
