Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Mechanic and Millwright to join our team at Day & Campbell Limited. This role involves a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery.

Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar role.
Work Environment

The work environment can be challenging, characterized by:

  • Noisy conditions
  • Odours
  • Dusty surroundings
  • Wet or damp areas
  • Temperature variations, including hot and cold
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coaching and mentoring apprentices
  • Identifying and troubleshooting machinery malfunctions
  • Constructing foundations for various machinery
  • Repairing or replacing faulty machinery components
  • Supervising other maintenance personnel
  • Fabricating necessary parts during maintenance or setup
  • Estimating costs and required materials for projects
  • Performing routine maintenance on machinery
  • Operating machining tools for part fabrication
  • Programming programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
  • Installing machinery and equipment
  • Using hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
Physical Demands

This position requires:

  • Handling heavy loads (up to 45 kg or 100 lbs)
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel
  • Working in a fast-paced environment
  • Performing repetitive tasks
  • Walking and managing a large workload
