JOB SUMMARY

The Industrial Mechanic Millwright is responsible for executing a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems within water and wastewater treatment facilities. This role includes troubleshooting, repairing, and performing both predictive and preventative maintenance on equipment and installations. The position requires working in diverse environmental conditions and may involve exposure to treatment chemicals, sludge, and confined spaces.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conduct maintenance on pumps, including servicing, repair, and alignment of components such as impellers, seals, and bearings.

- Perform valve maintenance, including calibration and servicing of pressure reducing valves and pneumatic systems.

- Oversee the maintenance and repair of conveyor systems and associated machinery.

- Carry out minor repairs on piping systems, including flanges and gaskets.

- Assess and optimize equipment performance through inspections and adjustments.

- Execute various testing procedures to monitor equipment conditions, including vibration and temperature checks.

- Utilize maintenance software effectively to manage equipment records and performance logs.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas following industry standards.

- Adhere to safety policies and regulations, ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety standards.

- Collaborate with facility personnel to assist in various operational duties as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Valid 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certificate with significant experience in the water/wastewater sector or large industrial environments.

2. Experience in metal fabrication and various welding techniques is advantageous.

3. Strong knowledge of maintenance practices related to water and wastewater treatment equipment.

4. Ability to obtain necessary operator-in-training certifications within the probation period.

5. Self-motivated with strong teamwork skills, capable of independent work.

6. Valid Class 'G' driver's license with a clean driving record.

7. Comprehensive understanding of relevant regulations and safety standards.

8. Excellent physical condition to perform manual tasks and work in confined spaces.
