Key Responsibilities:

Transition:

  • Actively engage in the transition of Country General Ledger processes into the shared services team, including work shadowing and preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Contribute significantly to ensure operational readiness by the Go-Live date.

Compliance:

  • Assist in internal audits by collaborating closely with the Local Finance team.
  • Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (IFRS) and company protocols to maintain the integrity of financial data.
  • Follow up diligently on issues identified during external and internal audits.

Operations:

  • Address and resolve inquiries from the Country Finance Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Local Finance team to understand local activities, prepare trial balances, and investigate account fluctuations.
  • Prepare and ensure proper documentation for journal entries in accordance with Group Accounting policies during financial closings.
  • Manage fixed asset creation/disposal, General Ledger, Reconciliation, Balance Sheet, and P&L Account in the SAP system, including performing monthly depreciation runs.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial reports: P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow movements, management reports, tax reports, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Facilitate bank reconciliations, Intercompany reconciliations, and follow up on any unreconciled items.
  • Ensure strict adherence to month-end and year-end deadlines.
  • Undertake any accounting and reporting requirements, as well as ad-hoc duties or projects as assigned.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and articulate areas for improvement across processes.
  • Participate in the implementation, automation, and standardization of Record to Report (R2R) activities.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in finance, accounting, or business studies is required; Chartered or certified professional accountant status is preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Financial Reporting or related accounting functions is required. Competent candidates with less experience may be considered.
  • Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems is preferred.
  • Experience in a shared service or business process outsourcing environment is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in English is essential.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Financial Reporting and accounting functions.
  • Familiarity with MS Office tools is required.
