ROLE OVERVIEW

The Accounting Specialist will oversee daily financial operations within the After Sales division, which includes:

  • Executing accounting functions, encompassing all processes, controls, policies, and procedures to align with accounting objectives, including:
    • Managing month-end and year-end processes, preparing and posting journal entries as necessary.
    • Overseeing accounts payable transactions related to the After Sales department.
    • Handling accounts receivable transactions and ensuring accurate reconciliation.
    • Reviewing and reconciling general ledger accounts, identifying discrepancies in coding and cost allocation.
    • Conducting revenue and expenditure reconciliations from internal systems.
    • Managing spare parts inventory, including cycle counts and ensuring accuracy in the general ledger.
    • Analyzing accounting data and generating financial reports.
    • Coordinating annual audits.
  • Facilitating all transactions related to After Sales sales and repair orders.
  • Overseeing transactions related to charging initiatives, including SAP coding and mapping.
  • Building collaborative relationships with senior management and external partners.
  • Maintaining communication with the accounting leadership team in Vietnam for various accounting activities.
  • Collaborating with IT to enhance accounting systems.
  • Working with international markets on cost-sharing and chargeback matters.
  • Providing insights for long-term business and financial planning.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting.
  • Proven ability to establish and enhance accounting processes in various business contexts.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian compliance regulations, GAAP, IFRS, and tax matters.
  • Experience working with auditors and SAP solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree and CPA designation are mandatory.
  • Experience in the automotive or electric vehicle sector is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while demonstrating teamwork.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong integrity and business ethics.
  • A proactive mindset with high energy and a robust work ethic.
  • Adaptability to changes in operating plans.
  • Awareness of cultural differences and ability to adjust communication styles accordingly.
