Company Overview: Creation Technologies LP is a premier provider of high-complexity, low-volume electronics contract manufacturing services, operating across multiple locations in Canada and the U.S.
Position Summary: Reporting to the Regional Accounting Leader, the Lead Cost Accounting Specialist will oversee all manufacturing and costing-related functions within the business unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of manufacturing accounting and costing.
- Prepare comprehensive weekly and monthly management reports, focusing on manufacturing job costing, standard costs, and variance analysis.
- Compile and analyze financial data for ledger entries and business transaction documentation.
- Conduct monthly financial close processes, ensuring accuracy in cost-related entries and general ledger reconciliations.
- Implement and enhance accounting and internal controls, particularly in manufacturing and costing processes.
- Maintain and optimize the Chart of Accounts and financial reporting structures to accurately reflect manufacturing cost considerations.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing insights into control and process deficiencies along with recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- At least 2 years of dedicated experience in cost accounting, specifically in manufacturing job costing, standard costs, and variance analysis.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with senior business leaders, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing operations.
- Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills, with a strong capacity to measure and communicate financial performance, particularly in manufacturing cost analysis.
- A successful track record as a key member of a high-performance accounting team in a manufacturing context.
- Experience with Tier 1 ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) is preferred.
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business is preferable, along with a professional accounting designation (CPA or equivalent).
