Key Responsibilities
The Talent Acquisition Specialist is integral to the ongoing enhancement and execution of effective recruitment and onboarding strategies, emphasizing best practices in diversity and equity.
Reporting to the Director of HR, you will leverage your extensive sourcing expertise to provide guidance, tools, and training to management. The ideal candidate will support recruitment, onboarding, and reporting efforts while assisting with various HR functions.
Sourcing Responsibilities
- Utilize diverse channels and platforms to proactively identify and engage potential candidates, including job boards, social media, professional networks, and online databases.
- Develop and maintain talent pipelines by connecting with colleges/universities, industry associations, community centers, and through networking and employee referrals, while representing the company at recruitment events.
- Manage a database of both passive and active candidates to ensure a consistent flow of potential hires for current and future openings.
- Plan and oversee targeted social media advertising campaigns.
- Coordinate the job posting process across various online platforms.
- Act as the primary contact for recruitment agencies.
- Stay updated on market trends and sourcing techniques.
Recruitment Duties
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand business needs and proactively develop Talent Acquisition initiatives that align with company strategies.
- Oversee the full recruitment cycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and onboarding, ensuring timely communication with all parties involved.
- Utilize the ADP WFN recruiting module effectively.
- Evaluate resumes and cover letters to identify qualified candidates and promptly forward suitable applications to hiring managers.
- Conduct interviews to assess candidates' qualifications and fit.
- Maintain candidate engagement throughout the recruitment process to ensure a positive experience.
- Focus on refining recruitment processes and policies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Assist in researching competitive compensation benchmarks.
- Coordinate recruitment cycles for summer positions and university/college Co-Op roles.
- Implement scoring matrices in the interview process to enhance DE&I practices.
- Provide monthly analytical reports on recruitment metrics to management.
Human Resources Support
- Support Employee Relations to uphold core values.
- Contribute to employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze data trends.
- Promote a positive company culture and image among employees and candidates.
- Meet and exceed departmental objectives and goals.
- Analyze recruitment metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in brand marketing for sourcing campaigns.
- Strong relationship-building skills to effectively promote the Gerrie brand.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ADP WFN is an asset.
- 5+ years of experience in a recruitment role within a high-growth environment.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; HR certification is a plus.
- Experience in multi-location recruitment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of provincial laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with recruitment technology tools.
- Experience in developing successful social media recruitment strategies.
