Located in the heart of Hamilton, our facility is equipped with advanced medical technologies and serves as a hub for several regional referral programs. Our neurosciences and trauma services are recognized for their high volume and complexity, while our stroke program has set benchmarks for integrated care. Additionally, our cardiac and vascular services lead the province in surgical procedures.

Our Diagnostic Services team is dedicated to providing high-quality care to a large volume of adult and pediatric patients, operating around the clock, seven days a week. Our offerings include X-Ray, CT Scan, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PET, Ultrasound, and Interventional Radiology.

Position Overview

As a vital member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Certified Radiological Technologist is responsible for coordinating, executing, and assessing Diagnostic Services examinations. This role includes mentoring clinical and technical staff as well as students in a dynamic teaching and research environment. Our technologists are committed to delivering patient-centered care aligned with HHS's core values of respect, compassion, innovation, and accountability.

At Hamilton General Hospital, our Radiological Technologists utilize cutting-edge equipment, including the Operating Room O-Arm. Comprehensive orientation and training opportunities in other modalities, such as CT, are provided. Collaboration with emergency, trauma, and operating room teams ensures seamless patient care throughout their healthcare journey. Technologists may rotate through various modalities and locations based on qualifications and departmental needs.

Work Schedule

Shifts will vary, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, with standby duties as necessary.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Radiological Technology program
• Active membership in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
• Professional designation as a Registered Medical Radiology Technologist (MRT)
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Competent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Evidence of ongoing education and professional development
• Membership in CAMRT/OAMRS is preferred

As a condition of employment, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination must be submitted to Employee Health Services.
